A few spaces are available in the Beginner Home Beer Brewing class, which meets from 10 a.m. to noon tomorrow (Sat., June 23) and in two weeks (Sat., July 7). First class covers brewing with malt extract, second class covers racking and bottling. The beginner class is a prerequisite for the Advanced Home Brewing, all-grain class, meeting July 14 and 21.
Call to sign up – 237-0996.
Also, while hunting down supplies for tomorrow’s class, I went to Nittany Valley True Value in Bellefonte, about a half-hour’s drive from State College. They carry a lot of supplies, kits and equipment for home brewing and home wine-making, and the manager – Darrell Furfaro – is very knowledgeable, especially about wine-making, and offers classes on both subjects, plus an upcoming class on fermenting honey to make mead.
Well worth the trip: 1169 Nittany Valley Drive in Bellefonte.
